AI training for the people making the decisions

Three Level 5 units for managers and leaders. Thirty hours each, twelve sessions, no exams, and every piece of work is done on your own organisation rather than a case study. Within fifteen miles of Blackburn, only two providers are approved to deliver these. We are one of them.

The three units

Take one, or take all three in sequence

They stand alone, but they were designed to run in order: decide what you are doing, buy and govern it properly, then make it land.

UNIT AU0009

AI Strategy and Opportunity

For the leaders setting direction.

Where AI can realistically move the needle in your organisation, what to say no to, and how the decision gets governed.

Your organisation leaves with
  • A written AI strategy
  • Vision, principles and priority areas
  • A governance model and risk appetite
UNIT AU0010

AI Adoption, Procurement and Governance

For the people evaluating options and signing things off.

How to assess tools and suppliers properly, what to put in the contract, and how to assure what you have bought.

Your organisation leaves with
  • A procurement case
  • A vendor scorecard
  • An assurance pack
UNIT AU0011

AI Delivery and Organisational Transformation

For the leaders who have to make it land.

Taking an approved idea through to something people actually use, with accountability and monitoring that holds.

Your organisation leaves with
  • A delivery plan
  • A risk register
  • An accountability structure and monitoring routine
How it runs

Thirty hours that produce something you keep

Twelve taught sessions per unit, delivered in person in Blackburn or on site with you for a cohort of your own. Between sessions, learners apply the material to their own organisation. There is no exam and no End Point Assessment. There is a provider designed skills test and a set of documents your organisation actually uses afterwards.

  • Small cohorts, so the discussion is about your business and not a generic scenario
  • Every deliverable is a real artefact: a strategy, a procurement case, a delivery plan
  • No prior technical knowledge assumed, and no coding
  • Suitable for directors, heads of department, operations and finance leads
  • Functional Skills in English and maths are not required for these units
Who it is for

If you are the person who has to answer for AI

Boards are asking what the AI plan is. Staff are already pasting company information into tools nobody approved. Somebody is going to be asked to sign a contract with a vendor whose claims nobody has tested. These units are for the person who has to hold all of that, and would rather do it from a position of knowing what they are talking about.

If you want the capability built into a full time role rather than a leadership short course, the AI and Automation Practitioner Level 4 apprenticeship is the other half of the same answer.
